The Programme

Fresh Start is an EU funded business support programme for migrants that want to develop their entrepreneurial skills.

 

The programme supports migrants who:

 

  • Would like to start their own business

  • Already have an idea and want to put it in practice

  • Already have started a business and need to grow or overcome specific difficulties

 

The Programme is delivered by London South Bank University (LSBU), Norfolk and Waveney Enterprises Services (NWES) and Citizens UK (CUK).

 

It will take place between January and May 2019 at London South Bank University (LSBU).

 

The Programme will start with a Launch Event on the 17th of January 2019 – an opportunity to meet the other participants and the trainers and be inspired by the stories of successful migrant entrepreneurs.

 

On the 21st January 2019 a 10 weeks Training Programme will start, including:

 

  • 10 Workshops - Monday 18.00-20.30 – focused on developing your business plan

  • 10 Tutorials - Wednesday 18.00-20.30 – putting into practice what learnt during the lecture and applying it to your business idea​​

Delivered by LSBU School of Business Academics.

 

One-to-one Meetings with a Business Advisor

 

3 one-to-one meetings with a SFEDI qualified Business Advisor will be arranged for each participant throughout and after the programme. Depending on the stage of the business, the advisor will support with the development of an idea, business plan or growth strategy.

Meetings will take place during working hours.

 

Mentoring Sessions

 

At the end of the Training Programme, 4 group sessions with mentors will be arranged to allow you to discuss specific issues related to your business idea with trainers and entrepreneurs.

 

At the end of the Programme you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion at a Closing Event on the 23rd of May 2019, where you will also be able to present your business idea.

 

In order to receive the Certificate of Completion, you will have to attend all the Workshops and the Tutorials, the 3 meetings with the Business Advisor and at least 2 Mentoring Sessions of their choice.

 

By the end of the Programme you will have developed your own Business Plan and be ready to start your business.
